If you want a new and better approach go to my blog and click the "my approach" section.

I don't think (my approach) is the end-all-be-all but it's a heck of a lot more relevant to software development than anything I've seen from the "agile" crowd

I don't believe we need to refer to the agile manifesto for anything.

It's the idea of a few people that are relevant to a few projects yet people treat it as the gospel.

You're right, Jordan. "Agile" is a hot term today and companies are anxious to call themselves agile. They have daily meetings and voilà -- they're doing agile development. The lack of definition around practices is both good and bad. It's good because we need flexibility to be agile. It's bad because any approach can be labeled agile. We need to keep referring back to the agile manifesto to guide out decisions until we can find a new and better approach to software development.

All this shows is that anyone can call anything agile.

There is no definition of agile in terms of practices.
